NAHB Green Building Seminar

We just got back from the NABH Green Builidng Conference in New Orleans.  The NAHB is trying to catch up to the USGBC in regards to a nationalized green builidng standard.  From what we have seen they are doing a good job with a program focused on getting as many builders to participate as possible while LEED is only looking for the top tier of builders to use their standard.  So they are really going after two different markets.  The NAHB standard is certainly mre builder-friendly.

We  decided to get our Green Building Professional designation with the NAHB when we were at the conference.  We had three days of classes and are required to take continuing education cclasses ever few years. I think it will help set us further apart from other builders when they decide to start building green.

Interesting article on green building from the conference - http://www.nbnnews.com/NBN/issues/2008-05-19/Front%2BPage/index.html
