Green Home Seminar
TMG Homes to Sponsor Seminar on Green Homes
March 27 Event Targets Individuals Interested in Learning About Green Homes
Glenmoore, PA - March 13, 2008 - TMG Homes, Inc., announced today a date for its first-ever seminar focused on the green homebuilding process. The seminar will be held on Thursday, March 27, at 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., in the Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry at 1600 Paoli Pike, Malvern. Entitled "Building Green: Good for You, Good for the Environment," the free event is open to anyone in Chester and surrounding counties that is interested in learning about green homes.
TMG Homes is working with the Matt Fetick Real Estate Team to put on the seminar, which will help consumers understand all of the basics of green homebuilding, including national green building standards, the features one might expect to see on a green house and, most importantly, the benefits a green house offers.
According to Chadd Martin, Vice President of TMG Homes, it is this latter concept that he and partner Torrey Marks will try to impress upon attendees. "Most people think about the health of the environment when they think about going green," Martin says. "The environment is important, but we also want people to realize that green homes are healthier to live in, as well."
Martin points to air quality as a prime example. Green homes limit the use of building materials that can off-gas harmful chemicals and affect allergies and respiratory ailments. Green homes also take steps to control and filter air contaminants during and after construction.
In addition to features and benefits of green homes, the seminar will present information about the green building process itself - how to get started, what to look for, pitfalls to avoid.
"There’s a common misconception," Martin explains, "that building a green home is too difficult or too expensive. It doesn’t have to be. Finding a builder that is an ENERGY STAR partner and that follows the Green Home Building Guidelines established by the National Association of Home Builders is a good start. The right builder can help long before construction actually begins, at the planning and site development phase."
Seating is limited at the event, so please register in advance by contacting April Breniser at (610) 765-1419 or .
